GRD 3000 Personal Logo

This post is about my personal logo that I had to create for my first graphic design class (GRD 3000).  

For this project I was hoping to create a logo that shows my more feminine (since i am in the military), my background in art as well as calligraphy, sophistication, and what i could bring to the design world.  The colors that i will be choosing are colors that i normally wear and they are autumn colors which represents the season that i was born in.  

Here are a few of my sketches and progress work:

~Then I had to choose five and make five variations.

 

~ Now I have narrowed it down to 2 designs.

This is my final pick and in the layout that i turned it in with  (12x18 flush mounted on illustration board).

I still might go back to the other one of the final two - I am unsure why but i am still drawn to that one.  I just feel at this point it is the most incomplete one, so i turn in the other.  I also believe that both of them are strong designs and I would get an A either way.

I really enjoyed this project and was excited about creating an image for myself. 

Please let me know your thoughts and if there is anything that you might change to either of the final two.
